Would what you wrote be considered a synopsis then? I am getting ready to query soon and one agent requested a synopsis “if you have it.” Do they really want ALL the spoilers? Because that seems like no fun but obviously I can oblige if that’s what they want. And when is dark days coming out?! Sounds great
no, a synopsis would have more info on what happens- I'd say 2-4 pages single spaced (but double spaces between paragraphs). It should have the entire plot and should be less stressful to write than the query. When agents ask for a synopsis they want to make sure the plot doesn't go off the rails or they weren't sold one thing when it's another. "Dark Days" = "A Step Past Darkness" and it came out in February - that was just the original title.
Is this something you'd give to your agent, proposing your next book? Or just something you wrote for yourself as you started the first draft? I was under the impression you can't/shouldn't query books that aren't finished. (and btw, this book sounds great!)
Sharing this with my Study Coven!

Ah ok. Makes sense. Thank you. I’m going to check out darkness!

both the first two things. you can't query a book you haven't finished but you can still write a query.
